Gizem Çeliker Akandere was born in Nicosia on 13 October 1980. She completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of Business Administration at Eastern Mediterranean University. Between 2001 and 2004, she pursued a Master’s degree in European Union Studies at Başkent University in Ankara.

Between 2009 and 2012, she served as President of the Northern Cyprus Young Businessmen Association. In 2014, she became a member of the High Advisory Board of the Confederation of Young Businessmen Associations of Turkey (TÜGİK) and subsequently served as a member of its Board of Directors.

She currently works as a Project Officer in the fields of private sector development and economics at the European Union Coordination Centre under the Prime Ministry. In this role, she continues to work on the development, coordination, and implementation of European Union-funded projects.
