Open Call

The Technical Committee on Culture (TCC) announces an Open Call for Collaborative Art Projects 2026 to support the production and implementation of joint artistic projects proposed by Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot artists and cultural workers across the island of Cyprus.

The Call aims to foster shared cultural exploration, social dialogue and sustainable artistic partnerships. Participants are encouraged to develop projects that consider how shared cultural heritage and contemporary artistic dialogue can strengthen intercultural understanding and sustainable cultural development in the island of Cyprus.

Proposals across all artistic disciplines are welcome, including but not limited to: Visual arts, Photography, Music, Performance, Theatre, Dance, Literature, Filmmaking, and Folk art. Cross-disciplinary or muti-artistic collaborations are encouraged.

Selected proposals will receive a cash-award of up to €15,000 for implementation, production, dissemination, and documentation.

The awards are funded by the European Union and will be administered by the United Nations Development Programme following the Low Value Grants modality. More guidance will be provided on this during the information session.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Form a team including at least one (1) Greek Cypriot member and one (1) Turkish Cypriot member;
  • Ensure all team members are registered on the TCC Networking Platform (mandatory prerequisite). Click here to register

  • Be a registered entity or be in formal collaboration with a registered entity. (payments will be made to the entity for the project)
  • Provide all required supporting documents (make sure to review the checklist before submission).
  • Multiple applications from the same entity are permitted.

Open Call details:

  • Number of Awards: Two (2) projects
  • Award Amount: Up to €15,000 per project
  • Implementation Period: 1st of July until 23rd November 2026
  • Call Duration: Two (2) months 20 of April until 20 of June
  • Submission language: English
  • Awarded projects will be announced one month after the closing of the application process.

How will submissions be evaluated?

Submitted proposals will be evaluated based on the criteria listed below, each weighted according to the assigned percentage.

Open Call – Frequently Asked Questions

Can the same individual be involved in more than one application if applying through the same or different registered entities?

Yes. An individual may be involved in more than one application, provided that each application is submitted by a registered and eligible entity. However, the same project proposal cannot be submitted more than once, including through different entities.

Can the same registered entity submit more than one application? If so, can more than one be accepted?

Yes. A registered, eligible entity may submit more than one project application under the Open Call. However, only one application per entity may be selected for funding.

Who can apply for the Open call for Collaborative Art Projects 2026?

Civil society organisations (CSOs) and non‑governmental organisations (NGOs) are the primary eligible recipients of Low Value Grants (LVGs). Accordingly, only registered, non‑profit institutions are eligible to apply for the Technical Committee on Culture’s Open Call for Collaborative Art Projects 2026. Artists may apply through a registered non‑profit institution. Proof of entity registration is a required part of the application.

Are Art Schools eligible under the Open call for Collaborative Art Projects 2026?

An art school is eligible only if it is formally registered as a non‑profit entity (association, foundation, or non‑profit company) and can provide proof of such registration. Private or commercial art schools are not eligible under the Low Value Grants modality.
