Begüm Tuncalı is a diplomat who has been serving within the Turkish Cypriot side for almost nine years.

During her diplomatic career, she has undertaken assignments in Brussels and Istanbul and has gained experience across several divisions, developing expertise in international affairs, crisis management, cross-cultural communication and diplomacy. Throughout her career, she has participated in delegations accompanying Turkish Cypriot leaders and representatives during international visits and engagements, contributing to dialogue, cooperation and relationship-building with a wide range of international stakeholders.

Begüm holds a degree in Management from the University of Leeds and a Master’s degree from the University of Westminster, where she developed a strong interest in international affairs. Outside her professional work, she enjoys engaging with different cultures through languages, music, theatre and the arts, and has a particular passion for social dance and cultural exchange.
